The giant manta ray is the largest species of ray, growing up to 29 feet across. They are scattered in tropical, subtropical, and temperate oceans across the globe and are known for their intelligence and curiosity. These gentle giants have inspired our latest project, the manta ray clasp.
Humans have put manta rays under threat of extinction by hunting them for their gills. Their gills are mistakenly believed to boost immune systems and are sought after for use in alternative medicine. Rays are also at risk of becoming bycatch when fishermen are targeting other species. 15% of profits from this new piece will support these awesome creatures.
Below are some pictures of our early sketches and prototypes. All of these pieces are designed and manufactured in the USA. We assembly in house and ship from a small warehouse in Boston.
Thank you for helping Cape Clasp #makewaves.
